
Sarah B. Perlmutter
Sarah B. Perlmutter is an Associate Attorney practicing in the Criminal Division as well as the Family Law Division of Kassius Benson Law, P.A.. Sarah represents clients in all areas of criminal defense and family law. Sarah takes a client-centered approach to every case she accepts. Sarah works with her clients to discuss available options, shape desired objectives, and achieve desired outcomes. Sarah is experienced and comfortable at both the negotiation table as well as the courtroom. Sarah was recruited by Kassius Benson Law, P.A. due to her tenacity, legal acumen and readiness to fight for her clients.
Prior to joining Kassius Benson Law, P.A., Sarah Perlmutter lived and travelled throughout the country. Sarah grew up in Wisconsin and New York. She attended college and law school in Kentucky. Sarah most recently worked at a law firm in Colorado. At that firm, Sarah gained valuable experience in the areas of family law and criminal defense.
Sarah is a 2015 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law. While in law school, Sarah was a research assistant for Dr. Melynda Price in the area of race and the death penalty. Sarah received an acknowledgement for her work in Dr. Price’s recently published book, At the Cross: Race, Religion, and Citizenship in the Politics of the Death Penalty. As a member of legal clinics, Sarah resolved civil and family law issues for her clients. Throughout law school, Sarah was also a mentor, an advocate and a volunteer for several community activities. She was president of an Animal Legal Defense Fund, volunteered for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and wrote letters to active duty soldiers. After law school, Sarah was a judicial clerk in the Fayette County (Kentucky) Circuit Court Family Division.
Sarah received her undergraduate degree in sociology from the University of Kentucky. While there, Ms. Perlmutter trained to be a Guardian Ad Litem and family law mediator and conducted court ordered supervised visitations for families. While in college, Sarah was recognized for her pivotal role in creating a policy addressing the opioid epidemic facing Kentucky’s children.
